Should We Save Those Who Don’t Want To Be Saved?

The saying goes ‘if someone says they’re going to commit suicide then they wont do it’.  I am fully in agreement with this.  Mostly it’s a cry for help, not necessarily attention seeking.  However, should we really ignore them because we don’t think they’ll do anything?

Interesting.

Absolutely not.  If someone says they’re about to kill themselves, probably best not ignoring that.

However, when the time comes with me, I won’t be telling anyone because oddly enough, I don’t want to be saved.  I don’t want somebody calling anybody to come rescue me.  I want to do it because I don’t want to be here anymore.  So, no, while I think you should never ignore someone crying out for help, whatever the reason, I won’t be one of those you can ‘save’.  When it’s done, it’ll be done properly.  Once I figure out what ‘properly’ is.

If only I had the mental strength to do it.  If I had that I’d be long gone.

That raises the question; should we really save someone who is in so much pain?  Suicide is without question regarded as a selfish act, but isn’t it just as selfish to make someone live a life they are eternally unhappy living?
